Working Weekend, October 09

On behalf of the Earleywood Management Committee could I please pass on our grateful thanks to everyone who turned up over the weekend of 9/11 October to help with Service Crew Week-End.  Unfortunately I was unable to be present myself to personally thank you over the weekend, as I was on holiday with my family, but I believe the total  over the weekend was around 60 people which is an excellent turnout and enabled a tremendous amount of work to be achieved.  The site relies on these weekends to enable us to keep it in a good condition, as the core team is very small and would be unable to achieve the work required.  We very much hope that you enjoyed the cameradie and friendship of everyone getting together to work to enable us to maintain the standard we need to achieve to keep the standard of Earleywood at a level which will keep on attracting users.

I am sure you would all wish me to thank especially Gerald Hill and Stewart Sinclair for organising the weekend and to Allison Sinclair for feeding everyone, with 60 people that is no mean feat.

We look forward to seeing everyone again at the next weekend, which will probably be in March, but in the meantime if anyone has any ideas as to what work and/or improvements we should undertake please do not hesitate to contact Gerald, Stewart or myself

With very grateful thanks

110 Cubs roamed the woods at Earleywood

Cubs, leaders and some parents had a great Backwoods afternoon on Saturday 24th January 2009.
They built ballisters to see how far they could propel a small ball, and then lit fires to cook toasties wrapped in foil. The afternoon
finished with a wide game in the dark to see how many cows could be swapped for beans and then into beanstalks.
Thanks to all those who organised it and supported it, and to the Cubs for making it such fun!
