End of term for 2nd Crowthorne Beaver scouts saw 2 of their members being presented with their Chief Scouts bronze award. 3 Beavers are moving up to Cubs but not all Beavers are able to get the award depending on how long they have been with the colony as they have to work hard and get all 6 challenge badges.
It was also goodbye to Fox as she won’t be returning after the holidays.

District Beaver Activity Day
We woke to rain on Sunday morning which made many leaders groan but the sun soon came out and so did the smiling faces of all 90 Beavers attending Runways End camp site in Farnborough.
Beavers got to have a taste of Climbing or Archery as well as cooking dough twists, string trail and tracking, a scavenger hunt, making dinosaurs and painting their own fossils as well as mini caving, pedal car racing and playing games.
Comments like “cool” and “brilliant" were heard at various intervals from different parts of the site during the day.
After a packed lunch and well deserved sit down for the leaders, the Beavers set off again to make sure they didn’t miss one of the activities.
At the end of the afternoon they all gathered together to have a sing-song around the fire and trying to learn some funny actions which didn’t always go right. Even the leaders were having a go!
4 O’clock arrived and so did the parents much to the Beavers disappointment and the relief of the leaders.
A huge thank you to everyone that helped make this such an enjoyable day for the Beavers.

Boris's Adventure
Back last summer Boris Mikhail ( then age 6 ) a Beaver from 9th Bracknell Kestrel Colony and his Grandma went on an adventure that to most of us would never even consider, from what I can make out they took a day to get almost to the top of Musala ( 2925 m ) which is the highest peak in Bulgaria, then stayed overnight on the mountain before reaching the peak the next day.
It was said by the guide at the time that "Boris was the youngest person that had ever climbed to the peak". Wikipedia - panoramic view

2nd Sandhurst Beavers Awarded their Chief Scout Bronze Award
The Beavers at 2nd Sandhurst have been working very hard over the past year or so and the result was 8 Beavers being awarded their Chief Scout Bronze award recently.
All the boys have gained many activity badges and were very proud to have earned the top award. They also got a certificate signed by Bear Grylls the Chief Scout.
The leaders helped them to celebrate by providing cake and lemonade.
District Beaver craft morning
On Saturday 5th December 9th Bracknell scout HQ became a hive of activity with Beavers coming from Bracknell Sandhurst and Crowthorne to join together to have a morning of fun, making Xmas crafts.
All the crafts were prepared by Erica Malone , who although no longer district Beaver leader gave up her time to come along and help us make loads of exciting things.
We made reindeer photo frames with our picture in, candy cane mice and reindeer, several decorations to hang on the tree and not forgetting the popular penguin and snowman poo in gift bags! to name but a few.
The crafts were also enjoyed by the leaders who asked if we could do it again without the beavers !
All the children left with bags of goodies to show their parents (or maybe keep secret until Christmas).
